Carwood Commodities work with small and large organisations to help them reduce their carbon emissions and develop their carbon reductions strategy.
CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme
The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (previously known as the Carbon Reduction Commitment) came into effect from April 2010. It is part of the UK’s strategy for improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
It will affect large public and private sector organisations in the UK. Many of these will be required to provide details about their electricity usage. Around 5,000 organisations will be required to record and monitor their CO2 emissions and purchase allowances equivalent to their emissions each year.
How it Affects SMEs
Companies will also be looking at the carbon footprints of their suppliers. Suppliers who do not have a carbon reduction policy may be seen as a liability and could lose vital contracts.
